Join us for an unforgettable full-day adventure through some of the Western Cape’s most spectacular backcountry routes as we ride from Somerset West to the hidden oasis of Rooiberg Lodge.
We kick off the journey with a scenic climb over Sir Lowry’s Pass to Caledon before turning onto the gravel for an exhilarating stretch through the heart of the Overberg toward Bredasdorp.
A true highlight of the ride is crossing the mighty Breede River via the legendary Malgas Pont – the last hand-drawn ferry of its kind in South Africa. From there we follow beautiful coastal gravel roads toward Witsand, before heading inland through sweeping countryside toward Riversdale.
Our final stretch takes us into the rugged beauty of Van Wyksdorp, arriving just in time for a spectacular sunset at the tranquil Rooiberg Lodge, where a well-earned dinner, comfortable accommodation and a hearty breakfast await.
